Too much HHC. What to do?

No/safe HHC

Although there are no serious studies that have examined in detail the effects of HHC and its potential benefits, or pointed out the negative effects of its use, hexahydrocannabinol has attracted considerable attention and talk in both lay and professional circles. This semi-synthetic cannabinoid is produced in the laboratory because of the high financial cost of extracting it directly from the cannabis plant. It bears a striking resemblance to THC - its effects are often compared to those of delta-9 THC, albeit at a lower potency (similar to delta-8 THC). As well as feeling mildly intoxicating, it has a range of effects strikingly similar to CBD.

On the other hand, relatively little is known about HHC (even though it first "made its presence known" almost 80 years ago) and there are no dosage recommendations. Users must rely on their own common sense and carefully monitor how their body reacts. With cannabis compounds, people should not be too concerned about how each cannabinoid affects the other. A number of factors can significantly affect the final effect on an individual. These include, for example, body weight, sensitivity to new substances, the state of the immune or circulatory system, the stress experienced or the tendency to anxiety, and medical conditions or illnesses.

More than necessary

If you take more HHC on purpose, it is pure stupidity, if it is an accident, ignorance and a minor stumble, it can be understood and in this case (when taking HHC) corrected.

Unlike CBD, where the recommended safe (maximum) daily dose is around 60 mg but a person should be able to take up to 1500 mg without serious side effects, HHC lacks a "recommended dose" for the time being. If you take larger amounts of hexahydrocannabinol, you may experience side effects similar to taking larger amounts of THC, such as paranoia, euphoria, insomnia or nausea.

The unpleasant symptoms usually subside within a few hours and it turns out that the endocannabinoid system can easily tolerate and metabolise cannabinoids without risk of toxicity. When you take large amounts of HHC, the changes will "touch" your head and you may experience slowed reflexes, anxiety, or a disturbance in concentration and a compulsive need for something to occupy and distract yourself.

How to intervene quickly?

If you are already getting large amounts of HHC into your body, you have several options to remedy the situation.

A few drops of CBD

Cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive substance from the cannabis plant with anxiolytic effects. It calms the mind and directs the feeling of daze. Just take 25-40 mg in one dose and you can minimize the unpleasant effects. There is no guarantee that the unpleasant experiences caused by HHC will go away immediately, but CBD can help you regain your lost "balance".

A cup of coffee

Caffeine acts as a powerful stimulant of the nervous system and keeps a person awake and alert. The feelings of intoxication associated with the use of HHC are thus lessened with the help of coffee and the effects are diminished. Often the smell of coffee alone is enough to feel the improvement.

Sweets

Sugar works very similarly to caffeine. Once you eat something sweet, you "come back to reality" and the state you experienced after taking HHC goes away faster. It works mainly on blood pressure and dizziness. HHC, like delta-9 THC, can cause the munchies.

In the shower

The flow of water has a calming effect. Showering can thus help weaken the unpleasant effects of HHC and literally wash them away. You can speed up the process by setting the water temperature lower. However, beware of colds and problems with balance and coordination that occur when using HHC.

Distraction

The more you focus on how HHC affects you, the stronger and longer its effects (both positive and negative) can be. If you want to push it out of your mind, you need to distract yourself. A video game, a movie, a board game. Once you occupy your mind and direct your attention elsewhere, the effects of HHC will not seem as intense.

Without internet

Internet diagnosis is almost a national sport. Once you feel the effects of HHC, avoid looking for signs, symptoms and experiences of HHC intoxication in others. You will only worry yourself unnecessarily and cause stress, which is a breeding ground for the negative effects you want to get rid of.

Drinking regime

Dry mouth is a side effect of most cannabinoids. Just increase your intake of pure water (unsweetened and still) and the unpleasant condition will soon pass. After just one glass of water, the salivary glands are activated and the dry mouth is gone. If it returns, deal with it the same way.

Change of environment

At the beginning, try going to another room and try to have fun. If that doesn't help and the previous points haven't helped, you can go outside to get some fresh air and stretch your legs. But always make sure you are in a safe state and don't have problems with balance and concentration.

Interview

If you don't feel comfortable in your own skin, speak up. Ask friends to regale you with funny and positive stories. Have fun and don't think about the high from HHC. Besides, they will keep an eye on you and bring you water or candy if needed, watch you in the shower, or accompany you on a walk.

Summary

HHC is a cannabinoid that is psychoactive. It can produce experiences of euphoria, but at higher doses (which are highly individual), intoxication can become unpleasant. If such a situation occurs, there are a number of ways in which the feeling of intoxication can be easily reduced (even within a few minutes), even under domestic conditions, to overcome the unpleasant sensations.
