The growing market for H4CBD products: what to choose?

What we already know about H4CBD

H4CBD, or hexahydroderivative CBD, is produced synthetically by adding four hydrogen atoms to the CBD molecule. The production process is simplistically compared to the way margarine is made from vegetable oil.

The addition of hydrogen atoms to H4CBD alters its natural properties and produces different effects to those of CBD. H4CBD is more potent and can induce feelings of relaxation and euphoria or also relieve stress, pain and anxiety without a significant high.

A selection of H4CBD products

You can find H4CBD on the market in many forms, including distillates, gummies, cartridges, vape foams, and flowers.

What is H4CBD distillate?

Rare cannabinoids, which include H4CBD, are often offered in distillate form. Distillation is a chemical process that separates the different components of a mixture based on different boiling temperatures. Complete or partial separation yields near-pure components with higher concentrations that are further used in various products such as vape foams, cartridges, oils, capsules, creams or food supplements.

H4CBD distillate contains H4CBD and cannabis distillate from which other cannabinoids have been removed. The distillate is available in various concentrations (up to 99%). H4CBD distillate is available in a variety of flavours, is honey coloured, viscous and transparent. The THC content is less than 0,001 %.

H4CBD cartridges and vape pens

Those looking for a practical and discreet way to vape at home or on the go will find a range of vape pens to choose from.

The H4CBD vape pens and cartridges have a 1ml liquid cartridge containing up to 95% THC-free H4CBD and are available in a variety of flavours. Those who like a thick or earthy aroma will probably reach for vape foams and cartridges that contain terpenes from the Sour Diesel or Gorilla Glue varieties, those who prefer a spicy herbal flavor will probably choose the variant named after legendary activist and author Jack Herer, and the Super Lemon Haze variant is for citrus fans.

H4CBD flowers

H4CBD comes from technical cannabis, which contains less than 0.2% THC and 30-60% H4CBD distillate. The flowers vary in form, taste and aroma. Popular H4CBD flowers include White Widow, Blueberry, Alien OG a Durban Poison.

As with all other cannabis products, always make sure you are buying flowers of the quality you want with lab tests available. You can also look for reviews and feedback from users.

Increasing demand, increasing supply

Those who like to try new cannabinoids will welcome the current range of H4CBD products. Choose reputable brands from proven manufacturers who have their products tested by an independent laboratory. This is the only way to verify purity and potency.

As far as research is concerned, there have not yet been studies conducted on the bioactivity of H4CBD, so caution is always in order when using H4CBD.

Given the growing interest in H4CBD, it is to be expected that more uses for this cannabinoid will emerge in the future. If the efficacy of H4CBD and the advantages over conventional CBD products are proven, this may lead to a greater demand and a wider supply of H4CBD products.
